Base recipe, 1/2 teaspoon per 16 ounces water
Himalayan salt, any pure salt will work, 75 grams
Potassium Chloride 11.7 grams
Magnesium Malate 11.5 grams
I added 20 grams of whole berry blueberry powder. You want the whole fruit powders, fruit juice or extract powders have less nutritional value, it’s not the whole fruit. Always organic!
It can sweeten a bit with honey or stevia extract, but make sure it’s pure, not refined, or maple syrup. I also like to add elderberry syrup to.
The base recipe was formulated and put out by LMNT.
I filled 25 .15 oz chapsticks with this recipe.
.95 oz beeswax
1.05 oz shea butter
.60 oz lanoline butter
1.05 oz comfrey oil
.10 oz vitamin E oil
.10 oz raw honey
I like to melt my solid oils first and then add liquid oils and honey. Place the double boiler on low-medium heat for 5-10 minutes. You want to make sure your beeswax is fully melted, and blend well. Add liquid oils, and blend in well.
If adding essential oils, now would be the time. Make sure to blend well. Remove from heat and pour into clean, dry chapstick tubes or containers of your choice.
