SEASONAL ALLERGIES

So many of us suffer from seasonal allergies with no hope in sight. Thankfully, there are many ways to treat your allergies naturally! A great way to tackle seasonal allergies is by not only addressing your stuffy nose, watery eyes, and chest congestion but  by also blocking the histamine release, boosting your immune system, and cleaning your lymphatic system. You can use the herbs in teas and or tinctures. Many people have found over the years that by using herbs for allergy relief, their bodies naturally heal themselves from the allergy.

My husband has had a horrible lifelong allergy to cottonwood tree pollen, terrible sinus congestion, migraines, and fatigue. He tried prescription medications and over-the-counter allergy medications, all providing little help. In his first year of using herbs for allergy relief, he was on a tincture blend of stinging nettle, Mormon tea, and ginger root. A turmeric paste made of ground turmeric, fresh ground black pepper, and local raw honey. And a tea blend of stinging nettle, elderberry, hibiscus, and dandelion. Taking 6 droppers of tincture 2-3 times a day, turmeric paste twice a day, and 1-2 cups of tea daily. After 3 years of using herbs during allergy season, he is now down to 4 droppers of tincture once a day during high pollen count days. God created our bodies to heal, and the plants needed to help with that healing process

It is important to know what you are putting in your body; clean eating will greatly improve your body's ability to respond to allergies. Many of today's processed foods contain ingredients our bodies are not created to use. Our cells do not regenerate properly, cause inflammation, and lack much-needed vitamins and minerals for our immune system. Avoid processed sugar by switching to local raw honey, which will bring relief. Using ancient grains like Einkorn will reduce inflammation and gluten intolerance. Avoid seed oils, as they cause inflammation. Extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, and ghee are much healthier options. All processed foods are full of chemicals not required by the FDA to be listed in ingredients; processed white sugar has 10-15 additional chemicals that are not listed

RAW LOCAL HONEY

Local raw honey is very beneficial in fighting seasonal allergies. To maximize its benefits, follow a couple of key steps.

Raw honey is a must. Pasteurized honey has had most of the beneficial constituents removed, including the live enzymes, beneficial bacteria, antioxidants, and antimicrobial properties. All of these protect your body from histamine overdose and build your immune system.

Local to you is important because that’s where the pollen that is causing your allergies is. There is no special set amount of miles it needs to be within. I believe within 50 miles, you are good. You want it to be roughly in the same area where the plants you are allergic to are blooming.

This is a more difficult guideline to follow, but it improves the outcome if possible. If you have spring allergies, you want to use honey that was harvested in late spring or early summer. The honey contains traces of pollen that you are suffering from. It sounds counteractive, but what it is doing is retraining your body, building up an immunity to handle that specific pollen. A VERY small number of people will react to this, so it is important to start small. Try 1/8 of a teaspoon first. If it does not affect you negatively, gradually add more to your daily diet, working up to 1-3 teaspoons a day. It is best to start one month before your allergy season starts to prepare your body for allergy season.

FOR GOD DID NOT GIVE US A SPIRIT OF TIMIDITY, BUT A SPIRIT OF POWER, OF LOVE AND OF SELF-DISCIPLINE.

2 Timothy 1:7
